The multiple toggle-lever mechanism acts as a thrust intensifier and has a parabolic cone in a concentric cylinder, moving four toggle-levers simultaneously into the extended position, without altering the primary thrust pressure. The four levers are at intervals of 90 deg. their thrust links(c) being secured in a common pneumatic piston (3), Their hinge links(a) work in guide grooves in the cone (2), and their base links(b) are fixed in the cylinder. Primary pressure in the axial direction on the cone causes intensification of the piston movement and thus compresses the air space (6) to a minimum. The base links form the static counterforce.
