PURPOSE: To obtain a compact and thin liquid crystal display device in which maintenance man-hour is reduced. CONSTITUTION: In this liquid crystal display device constituted by housing a liquid crystal display element, an illuminator 900 such as a fluorescent tube and a driving circuit board 100 in a frame member; the illuminator 900 has a side light system having a light guiding member 903 and the fluorescent tube 901, the member 903 is arranged on one side of the fluorescent tube 901, and an auxiliary substrate 10 is disposed on the other side of the fluorescent tube 901 opposed to the member 903, a fluorescent tube reflecting member is disposed on a side opposed to the fluorescent tube 901 of the auxiliary substrate 10, then the fluorescent tube 901 and the auxiliary substrate 10 are integrated so as to be inserted in or detached from the liquid crystal display device. Therefore, the fluorescent tube 901 is exchanged without disassembling the liquid crystal display device, so that the maintenance man-hour is reduced and the compact and thin liquid crystal display device is obtained. |
