<p>PURPOSE: To provide a device for indicating graphic information selectively in different directions, regarding an improved graphic display capable of showing many different types of information (such as an instruction about a character for showing printing quality of various text messages, scales, key words and bar codes, and an instruction about procedures for evaluating the printing quality). CONSTITUTION: This device has a display means 16 with a matrix of elements capable of making a selection between a bright mode and a dark mode for forming a character image, a means for generating data signals for characters, and a graphic driver means operated according to the data signals for selectively changing the bright and dark modes of each element of the display means 16, so as to be capable of showing characters in both of erected and inverted directions, as well as in an opposite spelling direction, upon inversion from an erected state, and further showing a message including the characters in an erected or an inverted right-handed or a left-handed direction.</p> |
