PURPOSE: To provide an arithmetic unit of an electronic computer which can easily perform the parallel operations and also can attain a fast clock speed by securing the multistate connection of serial computing elements. CONSTITUTION: This arithmetic unit is provided with plural serial computing elements 11, plural flip-flops 16, plural delay elements 17, a programmable switch 12 which connects together these elements 11, flip-flops 16 and elements 17 in an optional combination, and an initialization data input device 13 which programs the switch 12 and decides the connection states of the elements 11, flip-flops 16 and elements 17 respectively. |
