PURPOSE: To provide an electrode for a battery with high capacity, high strength, excellent discharge property, and long charge/discharge cycle life by filling a pasty active material in a foamed metal and pressing them in the manufacturing of the electrode. CONSTITUTION: A foamed metal having a surface density of 200-400g/m<2> and a thickness of 3-4 times the required thickness is pressed so as to have a thickness of 2-3 times the required thickness to form an electrode substrate. A pasty active material is filled in the electrode substrate, and the substrate is pressed to the required thickness to form an electrode plate. |
