PURPOSE: To identify an advancing direction at a next intersection to be guided in an indicated destination route even when voice data for driving guidance can not be read in a timing of driving guidance and a certain voice is generated to attract attention of a driver. CONSTITUTION: Judgment is made as to whether voice data for driving guidance is adequately read from a CD ROM on the timings of guidance, for example, at a time when distance to the next intersection to be guided becomes 700m, 300m or 100m (step 207). When reading is adequately executed, the driving guidance by the read voice data is carried out (step 208). When the judgment is that reading of the voice data is falsely executed, a voice guidance having no direction information (for example, a voice of 'you will soon arrive at an intersection') is generated (step 209). Even when the voice guidance having no direction information is generated, it is possible to identify the advancing direction on the next intersection by a destination route indicated on an indication device. |
