PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a channel selection by providing a display device with a remotely controlled receiving part, an MCU part, a storage part, a sound synthesis part, a sound processing circuit part, and a multiplexer and converting a sound current from the multiplexer into a sound signal. SOLUTION: When a remotely controlled receiving part 11 receives an instruction to select a specific channel, a peripheral circuit in the MCU part 12 executes the OSD processing of the channel number on a screen. The set channel number and a sound signal indicating a broadcasting station name are read out from a sound ROM 13 and synthesized by the sound synthesis part through an EEPROM 14. A multiplexer 15 for receiving a control signal from the MCU part 12 outputs a sound signal from the synthesis part 16 to a speaker 18 only for a fixed time and then outputs a sound signal outputted from a sound processing part 17 to the speaker 18. After outputting the sound signal of the channel number and the broadcasting station name selected by a user for a short period, the sound signal of a normal broadcasting program of the selected channel is outputted. |
