PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and device for function display over the hybrid equipment of the CDG player and VCR for dividing control functions performed by the hybrid equipment of the CDG player and VCR roughly into three groups and displaying them on a single fluorescent display panel part. SOLUTION: A control part 480 recognizes a function currently in operation or a function to be selected for the fluorescent display panel part 600, and dedicated function data on the CDG player, dedicated function data on the VCR, and common function data stored in a control data storage part are read out in an operation state, and the current operation state is displayed on the fluorescent display panel 600. Therefore, the fluorescent display panel 600 of the hybrid equipment of the CDG player and VCR is made single to display the functions in operation clearly at a glance.
