<p>PURPOSE: To notify a radio paging terminal of information on the contents of mail, to surely transmit the information, and to enable the call originating person of electronic mail to confirm the transmission of the information. CONSTITUTION: When an electronic mail receiving means 10 receives the mail from a transmitting terminal 4, it stores it in a mail receiving box 11, and transmits the information to a control means 13 through the request accepting means 12 of a paging request. The control means 13 creates a message to be transmitted to the radio paging terminal 7 by a notification information generating means 14 by using tables 15, 16, and stores the information in the table 18, and transmits the information to the radio paging terminal 7 through a notification means 17 and a radio paging system 2. In the case where a user holding the terminal 7 is at a place out of the reach of a radio wave, this user requests the re-transmission of the information by using a telephone terminal 6. The control means 13 retrieves an entry to meet a request out of various kinds of the information stored in the table 18, and re-transmits the contents of the message by calling the receiving person of the electronic mail.</p> |
