PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce and easily correct errors and attain improved scanning by using an anamorphic optical system for collimating a beam on the tangential plane of a scanning surface and focusing the beam on the sagittal plane of the scanning surface. SOLUTION: When a system is located at the center of the scanning position, a light beam 66 is reflected to a cylinder mirror 64 via a lens 62 along a line O by a flat small face 60, returned via the lens 62, reflected and returned along the incident path by the flat small face 60, and collimated by its tangential plane. The light beam 66 passes through the lens 62 and is focused at a focal point Fp1 and fed to the cylinder mirror 64. The light beam 66 is reflected to a conjugate point on the cylinder mirror 64 from a point of the flat small face 60, the portion of the light beam 66 reflected from a point A is reflected to a point A' on the cylinder mirror 64, the light beam 66 reflected from a point B is reflected to a point B', and the portion of the light beam 66 reflected from a point C is reflected to a point C', thus the scanning angle is doubled. |
