PURPOSE: To provide a vortex level which is provided with a function of measuring an absolute value of a molten bath level at high responsibility and high accuracy without affected by any circumferential effect. CONSTITUTION: A vortex level 10 for measuring molten bath level of molten steel in a mold of a continuous casting facility is provided with the first and the second electrodes 4, 5 which are inserted into the molten steel in the mold, an electrode type level 20 which inputs a pseudo random signal in the first electrode 4, receives the pseudo random signal transmitted to the second electrode 5 via the molten steel in the mold, and measures the molten bath level of the molten steel in the mold in starting casting or under a stationary state based on time delay due to propagation of the pseudo random signal, and calibration computation circuits 15, 16 which calibrate characteristics of the vortex level 10 based on the molten bath level obtained by the electrode type level 20. |
