METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STICKING POLISHING TAPE

PURPOSE: To make it possible to stick a polishing tape to the exact position of a polishing tool having a slight difference in level by sticking a polishing tape across both sides of the level difference line of this polishing tool, then cutting the polishing tape along the level difference line. CONSTITUTION: The polishing tool 4 which is stuck with the polishing tape 5 and has the slight difference in level is placed on a carriage 12 linearly moving back and forth on a slide 9 in such a manner that the level difference line 6 aligns to the moving direction of the slide. This carriage 12 is provided with a cutter 8 and a roller 10 forward in its sliding direction. The polishing tape 5 is cut by the cutter 8 along the level difference line 6 of the polishing tool 4. The polishing tape 5 is stuck to the polishing tool 4 having the difference in level by pressing the polishing tape 5 with the roller 10. As a result, the side face of the polishing tape 5 is accurately aligned to the level difference line 6 of the polishing tool 4 and the polishing tape is stuck to the exact position of the polishing tool 4.
