<p>PURPOSE: To provide more improved operability by making this device cordless. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting part 3 of a mouse 1 converts data into optical information expressing the state of a switch part 4 and outputs it. A sensor part 5 of a mouse pat 2 receives the optical information from the light emitting part 3. The optical information provided here is converted into an electric signal and sent to an X-direction move amount detector 6a, Y-direction move amount detector 6b and switch information detector 6c and the move amount of the mouse 1 and the state of the switch are detected. At a data conversion part 7, the move amounts obtained from the detectors 6a and 6b are muliplied by a conversion factor corresponding to the position to which the light from the mouse 1 is moved on the mouse pat so that the move amount can be reduced at the center of the mouse pat 2 and can be enlarged at its peripheral part, and the move amount is converted into digital data and sent to a data storage part 8. The data are stored in the data storage part 8 as the move amount information of a cursor and the information on the switch state, and are outputted to a computer 10.</p> |
