<p>PURPOSE: To realize accurate tracking in narrow track format. CONSTITUTION: This tracking controller is composed of a magnetic head 2 which reproduces pilot signals, a detecting circuit for detecting the desired pilot signals from the reproduced signals of the magnetic head 2 and a means for executing tracking in accordance with the detected pilot signals. The magnetic head 2 executes tracking control by detecting the pilot signals f1, f3 of the tracks adjacent to the main track to be mainly reproduced at the time of reproducing. As a result, the off-track quantity from the main track is decreased even in the narrow track format. Since the detection sensitivity of the error signals is high, the accurate tracking control is executable.</p> |
