METHOD OF TRANSMITTING VOICE SIGNAL IN PACKET EXCHANGE NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a transmission band without necessitating a special band width by transmitting a time-division multiplex TDM frame by packetting, non-packetting by access nodes of the input and output provided in a packet exchange network. SOLUTION: A digital sample of the TDM frame inputted from a caller's telephone exchange 10 to a packet exchange 26 is packetted by making one frame of slot/packet bytes correspond to plural digital samples one to one and successively exchanging the bytes by an input access node 28. Then, the digital sample is non-packetted by making a slot/packet bytes of the frame one to one and successively arranging the data byte to a TDM slot to be transmitted to a callee's exchange 12 by an output access node 30. Consequently, the special band width to assure synchronization with voice signal alignment and output TDM is not required and therefore, transmission efficiency is increased.
