PURPOSE: To provide the key input device with which operability can be improved by speedily performing the generation processing of a character string when plural keys are simultaneously keyed. CONSTITUTION: This key input device is provided with a compound input detecting means 141 for detecting the simultaneous keying of plural keys, pattern recording means 173 for recording the combination pattern of keys more than one and the character string corresponding to this pattern, pattern comparing means 172 for comparing the input pattern of input keys with the combination pattern, and character string selecting means 174 for possessing and outputting the character string corresponding to the pattern from the pattern recording means 173 when the combination pattern matched with the input pattern is detected. Since the character string set in advance is outputted corresponding to the input of plural keys, processing is accelerated and operability is improved as well. |
