<p>PURPOSE: To make it possible to exhibit a sufficient orientation function regardless of the formation of finer pixel by aligning the rubbing direction of oriented films in a direction orthogonal with the extension direction of gate wiring layer or drain wiring layer. CONSTITUTION: On the liquid crystal side surface of one glass substrate 20 of the transparent glass substrates arranged to face each other via liquid crystal, gate signal lines 22 extended in its (x) direction and juxtaposed in its (y) direction are formed and also drain signal lines 24 insulated by these gate signal lines 22, extended in the (y) direction and juxtaposed in the (x) direction are formed, and oriented films are formed to cover these gate signal lines 22 and the drain signal lines 24. The oriented films are subjected to rubbing treatments by allowing a roller to travel matching with the direction orthogonal with the extension direction of the drain signals lines 24 or the gate signal lines 22. As the result, the rubbing is executed as it is over the entire area of the pixel regions without the occurrence of disturbance is the roller hairs by the projecting surfaces of the wiring layers.</p> |
