The remotely operated launch emergency system for a small lifeboat enables remote operation of the launch process in the event of a larger ship getting into difficulties. The system is operated either by a coded remote control (11, 12, 13) offering a remote signal transmission to activate the mechanism, or by a local manual control (8). The lifeboat is inflatable and is provided with a bottle of compressed gas (5), an inflation head (4) and a percussion system (3). The percussion system may be operated mechanically, or by a pyrotechnic cartridge. The remote control includes a transmitter (13) and a receiver (11) fitted with an aerial (12).
