PURPOSE: To provide a metallic Fe powder for magnetic recording and producing method thereof, characterized in that the surface condition is freely controllable, alkali content is less and aged deterioration is less by depositing an additive(s) to the surface of the metal Fe powder. CONSTITUTION: A metallic Fe powder for magnetic recording and producing method thereof are provided. This powder contains, at least, one metal oxide or hydrate of Al, Si, Cr, Co, Zn, Ti or Mo 0.1-10% as reduced in metal, existing on the surface and water soluble alkali content thereof is 50ppm or less, as reduced in metal. |
