PURPOSE: To provide the image input device and the image forming device in which various setting for image input is made easily without referencing an instruction manual. CONSTITUTION: When an application operation is made, such as an application operation sheet 1-a corresponding to a desired application operation is extracted from a digitizer 5 and placed on an active part of the digitizer 5 as shown in figure. A kind of the application operation is discriminated by a sensor (not shown) by extracting the sheet 1-a and an operation mode of the digitizer 5 is switched to the mode of the application operation. A menu on the application operation sheet 1-a is displayed by using an input pen (not shown) to allow various setting. The operation mode and display of the operation section 2 of a copying machine 6 are switched in linking with the mode changeover.
