PURPOSE: To provide a rubber roller which generates no rust and prevents the roller from being peeled off from the rubber and also to provide a semiconductive rubber roller for electrophotography using a steel material which is inexpensive and less in the change of electric resistance value as a metallic shaft. CONSTITUTION: Two kinds of the rubber roller, each having a cylindrical rubber- covering rayer 23 on the circular rod-shaped metallic shaft 21 are provided. On is the rubber roller having the metallic shaft 21 of a Fe alloy containing 6-11wt.% Cr, and the other is the semiconductive rubber roller for electrophotography which has the metallic shaft 21 of a Fe alloy containing 6-11wt.% Cr and in which the rubber-covering layer 23 is at least one layer consisting of the semiconductive rubber with a resistance value of 10<3> to 10<9>Ω.
