PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for encoding digital information included in a television(TV) signal. SOLUTION: In the case of encoding digital information in the video part of a TV signal, n bits of the digital information are carried by respective continued frames in a frame group. The digital information is encoded by modulating a carrier signal by using ASK or FSK and the modulated carrier is added to a video signal and added to a TV program so as not to be sensed by a viewer. The video signal including the encoded digital data is transmitted to a TV receiver at real time. The video signal including the encoded information is displayed on the screen of a TV and an image is detected by a photodetector. The receiver discriminates whether a component (digital information) of oscillator frequency is added to the video signal or not in each part of each frame. When a check bit and a synchronizing pattern are properly included, bit streams outputted from a threshold processor are synchronized, so that the original encoding data are reproduced. |
