PURPOSE: To provide a corresponding-point searching method, which can decrease incorrect correspondence, a corresponding-point searching apparatus and a corresponding-point searching method. CONSTITUTION: A shape feature generating device 10 generates the shape features used for searching the corresponding points of the right and left images of a stereo images. A corresponding-point extracting device 12 searches the corresponding point by comparing the shape characteristics in addition to the numerical-value features (nonshape features), which have been used conventionally. These devices are provided. The shape feature generating device 10 has the following two devices. That is, a gradating device 22 gradates the right and left images by the features of the intended kinds and extracts the regions having the same gradation in the right and left images as the continuous pattern. A continuous-length excessive-value generating device 24 generates the excessive value of the continuous length, which is obtained by dividing the continuous length of the continuous pattern in the direction orthogonal to an epipolar line with the intended value as the first method, as the shape feature. |
