PURPOSE: To provide an electrochemical element equipped with an explosion- proof mechanism which improves safety by surely operating in response to a high temperature state on the inside. CONSTITUTION: On the inside of a battery 2, one end of a positive lead plate 16 is fixed to a power generating element 12, and the other end 16a is welded to a positive terminal 4 in a connecting part 17. A shape memory member 20 arranged in the interior of the battery 2 and positioned in the vicinity of the other end 16a is formed so as to extend and deform in response to a high temperature state inside the battery 2. When the reaction of a power generating element 12 is excessively advanced and the temperance inside the battery goes high, the shape memory member 20 extends and deforms so as to press the positive lead plate 16, and thereby, the other end 16a is separated from the positive terminal in the connecting part 17. |
