<p>PURPOSE: To reduce the processing time required for the recording. CONSTITUTION: A video peak rate analysis circuit 22, an audio peak rate analysis circuit 23 and a data peak rate analysis circuit 24 analyze each peak rate of video, audio and other data respectively. A system controller 25 controls a compression rate of compression circuits 27-29 based on a result of peak rate analysis. Thus, the compression circuits 27-29 encode and provide an output of the,video, audio and other data so that an output rate of a multiplexer 30 is a rate below a recording and reproduction rate of a disk 33. The peak rate is controlled without requiring tentative coding.</p> |
