The coolant flows through the tubes and the air round them, Each tube(1) runs in a spiral(2) between a central inlet(3) and an external outlet(4). Several spirals are mounted one after the other in the air flow direction, gaps(5) being left between them. A central manifold(7) runs in the air flow direction and is connected to each of the spiral inlets, while at the outside is a further manifold(8) connected to the outlets. The spirals are enclosed in a tubular casing(9), on whose axis the inlet manifold is situated, while the outlet manifold is mounted on it.
