Ski binding for cross-country skiing

The ski binding has a holding device (14) for the front part of the ski boot for fitting on the top face (10) of the ski. The ski boot (18) is attached by its front sole part (16) for articulated movement on the holding device but is also supported towards the back. The tension cable (24) which can be guided round the boot heel (20) and coupled with a tension mechanism (22) can be removed when required. The cable is attachable on both sides of the binding or holding device by means of a screw or hook connection. The cable can be endless and has a separating device.
