Information extraction for target digital text data field e.g. for E-mail, facsimile or letter

For automatic extraction of information from digital text data A data processing unit is equipped with a storage for predefined text structures. A first group of text structures is presented as initiating or release structures and a second group as description structures is checked or verified. With detection of the common occurrence of each structure from both groups within a sentence, the presence or availability of further processable information is detected.
