Clamping wooden dowel for wood connection

The dowel has a clamping function in the connection of wooden components, and comprises a circular, effectively cylindrical part (8) which is closed at one end and mfd. of wood. It is a flat, perpendicular dowel, and the circular part has a recess (1) set into it, which is also circular and concentric to the dowel parts. The depth of this recess is approximately half of the total depth of the dowel, and provides a slightly conical surface with a wedge effect. The outer dia. of the dowel is reduced (9) in the region of the recess at least sufficiently to be able to expect an increase in dia. as the dowel is pressed into position.
