Arrestable changeover mechanism for bath or shower fitting

In its starting position the mechanism permits water flow to the bath tub, while in its second end position the water flows to the shower. The mechanism consists of a housing (1), insertable pressure-tightly into the fitting, in which is located a guide rod twistable about its longitudinal axis. The rod end, facing the fitting, carries a closure member, coacting with tub water supply blocking slat. The opposite, free rod end carries a hand wheel. The housing contains straps (3), releasing the arresting by clamping forces, initiated in cooperation with a clamping ring (6), on twisting the spindle (7) from an axially freely movable position.
