PURPOSE:To improve measurement precision and to accelerate the progress of the measurement, by a method wherein, using a computer, the structure of a coal is discriminated and determined from a shape characteristic of a line profile and an absolute value of a reflectance. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a sample 12 is placed on a scanning stage 2 to adjust focus. Secondarily, after measuring conditions are keyed in a computer 7, a measurement starts to take place. Reflecting light from each measuring position is collected by a photoelectric multiplier 3 via a filter of 546mm. and a visual field throttle, and after it is integrated by an integrator 5 for several m sec - 10m sec, it is stored in the computer 7 and as reflectance together with position information Xi and Yi. Then, the reflectance of the measured AIi is found from a reflectance signal previously formed and a reflectance to store it, the reflectance is then collated with a discriminating reference for coal the structure of the stored in the computer, and discrimination of an organization takes place. This improves measurement precision and accelerates the progress of measurement. |
