Ultrasonic sensor for determining distance of objects with pan shaped housing

The sensor has a piezo element (7) which is overlaid with a silicon layer (8) and has a damping body (9). The base is displaced in oscillations with the application of electrical voltage pulses. The segmenting of the dividing of the outer diaphragm surface of the prim (14) and the two or more sec. diaphragms determines the geometric detection characteristic. With the grooving, the external sensor diaphragm surface (13) allows these to be decoupled in their oscillating properties and allows high transmitting amplifications. By the corresp. grooving of the outer sensor diaphragm surface with a uniform basic construction, the geometric detection characteristic is variable.
