A metal component (2) is provided which is capable of being used to form a gate (10), barrier or fence, either on its own or substantially on its own, for agricultural or commercial use. The component (2) is of indeterminate length and of an integral cross-sectional profile. The component (2) includes flanged means (3) on at least one side and preferably both, sides (4, 5) which are preferably sloping, and a central portion (6) which is preferably flat. The component (2) can be secured to other lengths of the component (2) by securing means which can include riveting, bolting, and welding. The metal of the component (2) is capable of machine pressing to form the shaped profile. |
