Particulate polystyrene preparations capable of being filtered are obtained by anionic polymerisation of styrene in a non-aqueous dispersion. Polymerisation is carried out in an aliphatic hydrocarbon as dispersing agent and with a styrene-diene-styrene three-block copolymer as auxiliary dispersing agent, for example based on polybutadiene or polyisoprene.
