The distributor has a central unit (1) with a frame supporting slicing cassettes and couplers and at least one coupling field (10), positioned to the left and/or right of the central unit. The central unit and the coupling field are coupled together via a vertical guide channel (12) and deflection devices (14,15) for guiding the optical fibre cables, each coupling field having a front and rear cable channel (16) and couplers fitted from the front and rear side, with pivoting into the working position.
