The main drive consists of a main drive motor, a revolution rate detector and a revolution rate regulator (8). The detector, which is connected to the regulator, is associated with a rotational part of the printing machine, e.g. a sheet feeding cylinder or a rapidly rotating part. Revolution rate detectors (9.1,9.3,0.5) can be mounted on rotating elements which are relevant to rotational vibrations. Activation of the detector used by the revolution rate regulator, i.e. the detector with the largest fluctuation, is performed depending on the speed of the printing machine.
