This invention relates to a process for the production of tetrabromobisphenolA, which process features: a water and water miscible solvent reaction medium; a reaction temperature between 50 and 100 ~C; and the presence, in the reaction medium, of unreacted Br2 during the feed of bisphenol-A to the reactor.
