Laminated low weight high strength construction panel for machines, motor vehicles and aircraft

A lightweight laminated panel has a main section (1) that is formed with a ribbed structure (4). The ribbed structure of the plates can be formed by laser cutting on a profiling machine. The top and bottom surfaces are covered with thin layers of metal that can be laser welded together along the points of contact. Once the laminated panels have been produced they can be formed into a number of shapes. For example, a box section of high strength and low weight can be used as the basis of a machine guideway.
