In order to process product and/or service-related data, preferably those generated at points of sales (5), at least one second set of machine-readable data containing information on business, preferably turnover- and/or profit-evaluation, as well as a third set of machine-readable data with sorting information concerning the logical and geographical origin, in particular the affiliation of a first set of data to a higher order of goods, are associated to the first set of machine-readable data that contains basic information characteristic of a product and/or service, including their price. The first, second and third sets of data and buyer identification means (19) are read, and the first to third sets of data are then processed and stored on the identification means (19) together with a fourth set of data that may have been previously stored on the identification means, forming a new fourth set of data. Sales promotion measures may be deduced and the behaviour of buyers concerning particular products and/or services may be determined from this set of accumulated data. |
