Method for thermally activating the inside of one end of a thermoplastic tube during a heat sealing process using hot gas, comprises introducing the gas through openings in a mouthpiece placed in a heating position and forcing the gas to flow through the narrow gap between the inside of the tube and the mouthpiece. Air pressure is applied to the inside of the tube in conjunction with the gas flow. The equipment for carrying out this method is also claimed. The gas is normally air and the thermoplastic is, e.g., polyester of (L)LD polyethylene. |
