PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as synthetic intermediate for various valuable compounds, safely at a low cost, by reacting a fluorine- containing alkyl halide with carbon monoxide and an alcohol in the presence of a specific catalyst and a base. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula III can be produced by reacting a compound of formula I (R<1> is F or polyfluorocarbon residue; R<2> and R<3> are H, F, alkyl, etc.; R<4> and R<5> H, alkyl, etc.; R<2> and R<3>, R<2> and R<4>, R<3> and R<5> or R<4> and R<5> may together form a ring; X is I, Cl or Br) with an alcohol of formula II (R<6> and R<7> are H, alkyl, etc.; R<6> and R<7> may together form a ring) and carbon monoxide in the presence of a group VIII transition metal catalyst and a base such as an alkali metal, aromatic amine, etc., preferably at 40-120 deg.C. The amount of the catalyst is preferably 1/500-1/5 of the compound of formula I. |
