The crane track, near the top of the load space, is extensible outside the latter for loading and unloading, the lifting tackle travelling along it and also across it. The track comprises two fixed rails (12) at the sides of the load space, a gantry travelling along them. The lifting tackle is on a crab travelling along the gantry. At the rear end of the load space is a rectangular door-supporting frame (50) hinging on a horizontal axis near the top of the load space and extending across the vehicle. This swings up from the normal vertical position into a horizontal one for loading and unloading. In the latter position, rails along the frame sides (56) form extensions for those in the load space.
