A method and device for weighing a bird (27), which is hanging in a suspension body (26) of a continuously moving overhead rail conveyer. The device has a number of arms (16) that extend radially outwards from a vertical central axis (2, 3) of the device and is swivel-supported in displaceable blocks (10), which are assembled on vertical guide rods (8), which revolve around the central axis (2, 3) and are driven by the overhead rail conveyer. The outer ends of the arms (16) are arranged so that during movement along the conveyer and with the same speed they will intercept and raise the suspension body (26) so that it is no longer supported by the conveyer, by displacing the displaceable blocks (10) upwards, whereupon the inner ends of the arms (16) are intended to be brought into contact with a measuring device (19), which is located in the central axis (2, 3) when they are released by a locking pin (20).<IMAGE> |
