The invention provides a gene coding for a human PLC- alpha polypeptide, an expression vector containing the gene, and a transformant containing the vector. A human PLC- alpha polypeptide is produced by culturing the transformant. The polypeptide is useful as an antiinflammatory and can be used for constructing a measurement system for clinical examination of canceration.
