PURPOSE: To purify NOX in exhaust gas with high efficiency and to also purify soot and HC at the same time by using a first catalyst component consisting of a noble metal, a transition metal and an amorphous double chain structure type clay mineral and a second catalyst component consisting of multiple oxide having a perovskite structure represented by a specific formula in a mixed state. CONSTITUTION: A first catalyst component is formed from a noble metal, a transition metal and an amorphous double chain structure type clay mineral, for example, platinum, vanadium and zeolite. A second catalyst component is formed from multiple site oxide having a perovskite structure represented by chemical formula ABO3 (wherein A is lanthanum, strontium, cerium, barium or calcium, B is cobalt, iron, nickel, chromium, manganese or magnesium and 0 is oxygen) and mixed with the first catalyst component to obtain an exhaust gas purifying catalyst. |
