PURPOSE: To make the bonding temp. lower than before when the fuel cell is produced and to prevent the deterioration of the cell by bonding gas separators each consisting of a ceramic sintered compact together and/or bonding the gas separator material to the cell material through a specified bonding material and firing the bonded material. CONSTITUTION: In this solid electrolyte-type fuel cell, a bonding material contg. MgO and SiO2 in 1:0.5 to 5 weight ratio is used when the main body 6 of a gas separator 3 made of a spinel ceramic sintered compact consisting essentially of MgO and MgAl2 O4 is bonded to frames 7 and 8, and the frames 7 and 8 are bonded to the electrolyte 5a of a cell 5 made of a YSZ sintered compact. Namely, an MgO powder and an SiO2 powder are mixed in 1:0.5 to 5 weight ratio of MgO to Si2 , a binder, plasticizer, dispersant, etc., are added, if necessary, to the mixture, the mixture is slurried, the slurry is applied on the faces to be bonded, the faces are abutted on each other, and the members are dried and fired at <=1300 deg.C and bonded. |
