PURPOSE: To perform proper control of a slip to prevent the generation of vibration when an accelerator pedal is pedaled in the lock up state of a torque converter. CONSTITUTION: A controller 51 reduces a duty D to a solenoid 43 to 0% and a valve 10 is situated in a position shown by a figure. A torque converter 1 is brought into a converter state and the duty D is increased to 100% to move the valve 10 to the left, the torque converter 1 is brought into a lockup state, and control of the slip of the torque converter 1 is effected through the increase and the decrease of the duty D. When an accelerator pedal is pedaled in a coast lockup state, only when an accelerator pedal pedaling amount exceeds a slice level within a set time, i.e., only when switching from a coast state to an acceleration state is effected, control of the slip of the torque converter 1 is performed for preventing the generation of vibration. |
