PURPOSE:A lubricant for wire drawing, excellent in lubricity, heat resistance, adhesion to wire and adherence, effectively working as a lubricant during cold molding, which is prepd. by adding a specified amt. of thermoplastic resin to a main component composed of metal soaps. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant for wire drawing comprising not less than 60wt% metal soap consisting of not less than 90wt% Ca stearate and Al stearate, not less than 20wt% inorg. material such as lime, several % additive such as MoS2, etc. is compounded with 1-10wt% powdered thermoplastic resin such as tetrafluoroethylene of particle size of about 10-20mum. |
