FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves spirography for detection of hyperventilation. If the spirogram indicates hyperventilation, the condition of postganglionary nonmedullated sympathetic nervous fibers by recording the values of sympathetic dermal potential and its amplitude and latency. Also evaluated is the functional condition of the brain trunk by the method of short-latency induced trunk potentials with determination and analysis of the amplitude and latent period of peaks I, II, III, IV, V and intervals I-III, III-V, I-V of the graph of potentials compared to reference healthy brain trunk readings. Along with significant increase in the latent period of the induced dermal sympathetic potential, the hyperventilation syndrome is diagnosed in bronchial asthma cases. If the growth in length of latent period of II peak is significant, the diagnosis is functional hyperventilation, and insignificant variation is indicative of voluntary hyperventilation. EFFECT: higher diagnosis reliability. |
