PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technology for performing combustion using a high oxidant without the need for water cooling to protect burner parts. SOLUTION: A burner comprises a central duct 2, a nozzle 3 provided in front of the central duct 2 in the axial direction thereof and having passages 4 for passing a main oxidant from the central dust 2 therethrough and means 7 and 8 for feeding a secondary oxidant to the entire surface 6 of the nozzle 3, the surface of which prescribed a continuous function. The flow of the secondary oxidant removes heat from the nozzle 3 and forms a boundary layer of the secondary oxidant between the surface of the nozzle and a free radical to prevent their recombination thereon. When the existence of a discontinuous portion on the surface of the nozzle cannot be circumvented, a passage is provided in the discontinuous portion. |
